Managing Director, North Africa and the Levant
Ethan Wagner is the managing director of BLJ’s newest international office in Morocco, working with clients in North Africa and throughout the Mediterranean, as well as sub-Saharan Africa. Having worked alongside executives and officials at the highest levels of business and public office, his specialties include social media, country branding, public relations for emerging markets, and event planning.
Among the projects he has helped lead are the World Bank-IMF Pan-African Inaugural Ball following Barack Obama’s election as president, hosting and speaking at Columbia University’s TEDx Talks, the launch of Hilton Hotels developed by Qatari Diar in North Africa, and working with the non-profit group Physicians for Peace to set up medical missions abroad.
He has previously worked in journalism, with published work in the Harvard Kennedy School Review, the World Policy Journal, and Open Democracy, among others, in addition to stints at NBC’s Meet the Press and on Capitol Hill. Ethan received a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (International Business) from the University of Virginia and completed his Master’s degree in economic development and international media at Columbia University in New York and the American University of Beirut. Ethan speaks English, Arabic and French.
